Management
The overall project management is democratic and dynamic with the flow of information and responsibility being based on a continuous feed-back and interaction (involving both bottom-up and top-down approaches). The project is organised, governed and managed at two levels:
- the broader management and
- the day-to-day management.
The broader management is carried out by the Project Coordinator (the interface between the SmartHand consortium and the European Commission), the Governing Board (GOBO), the Executive Committee (ExComm), the Activity Leaders (AL), and Scientific Board (SB).The day-to-day management is assured by the Project Manager, a professional SME experienced in technology transfer and management, who is supporting the CO in his work throughout the duration of the project.
The Coordinator, Assistant Professor Fredrik Sebelius, is the interface between the consortium and the Commission, and he is responsible not only for editing and submitting the regular reports and cost statements, but is also actively participating in the different governing bodies, thus, having an efficient overview of the management and coordination. The CO, will be assisted in his work by the Project Manager, Dr. Elisabeth Csöregi.
The day-to-day management will be carried out by the Project Manager (PM), who is the main responsible for the implementation of the decisions taken by the GOBO (top-down implementation). The PM is responsible for the design and development of an interactive web-site. The PM will also be responsible for sending out templates for reports, editing project monitoring documents, collecting cost statements, procuring audit certificates (if necessary) and to collate all data in the foreseen databases.
The members of all bodies can be exchanged if they don’t fulfill their duties but also in order to involve as many persons in the project management bodies as possible. Such exchanges shall be proposed by ALs or the ExComm, and will be approved by GOBO at the annual meetings.
